Sep 20, 2011 What it is doing is at 15mph to approximately 40mph it starts to make a grinding noise coming from the front left of the truck. The thing is, once the truck is warm, it stops making this noise. It almost sounds like a power steering pump but louder. Could it be a sticky caliper Although the wheel never smokes or seems warm after driving.
This causes metal-to-metal contact when the brakes are applied, creating a grinding noise. This grinding is generally a very loud noise and will only grind when your brakes are applied, making the diagnosis very simple. Typically, the grinding noise will come from either the front or rear brakes, but not generally both. The repair for grinding brakes is simply a brake job or brake overhaul on the affected

Oct 30, 2014 My 2007 F150 4x4 started making an intermittent loud grinding sound like ice cubes in a blender. Sometimes goes 3 weeks without the noise, other times every hour. Does not change with speed of vehicle or by going into passing gear. When I slow to 5 - 10 mph there is a loud thump and the noise stops. Also, stops if I move knob to 4WD setting. HELP
